Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter

Brown Ale - American

They don't make 'em like they used to... or do they? The bottle shop series is a tribute to the folks who supported ragtag brewer's across the country when craft beer was in its infancy. when beer enthusiasts sought out innovation through big flavor, in your face complexity and revered quality above all else. This series is for you: the distinguished beer connoisseur still seeking the revolution that energized the industry we know today -- that settles for nothing less then the very best!

Not like anything I've had. Smooth and rich. More than vaguely sweet. Some odd fruit scents that I can't identify. Its almost like the end of an umbrella drink was poured into a Rye on Rye.

Mr. Liquid Bread

This is pretty damn good. Bourbon forward that pretty much overpowers the wonderful brown characteristics.

Shared among 6 people. The nose is bright and fruity kinda like a hostess fruit pie. On the tongue it gets deep and dark, with pie spices and brown sugar or molasses. Big bourbon influence, but it doesn't overpower. Astoundingly well balanced beer!

A slightly sweet, faint malt and molasses plum juice with a dried fruit finish. Impressed.

Nice caramel, toffee and vanilla sweetness complemented by a fruit bouquet of plum, dates, raisin, candied cherry and orange bitters. All rounded out with some dry-oak and bourbon undertones throughout.

Loads of orange, cherry, vanilla, caramel and oakiness. I made myself a bourbon old fashioned before trying this, and the notes definitely track. This is fantastic!

Almost more like a barleywine but not as boozy. Let it warm up a bit, but it's a good choice.

Orange vanilla nose. Caramel, cherry, spice slight oak taste. Lots of mild flavors coming together. Good carbonation.

Very unusual and complex barrel-aged brown ale, taking notes from the Old Fashioned cocktail. Lots of cherry and orange notes collide with vanilla bourbon warmth. Delicious!
