Blushing Monk (2015)

Fruit Beer

Blushing Monk is brewed with a ridiculous amount of raspberries and with a Belgian yeast strain that keeps our head cellar operator from sleeping for a week. It pours a stunning deep berry red and, at 9.2% ABV, has a surprising kick. The perfect dessert beer, it can be enjoyed on its own or paired with fresh cheeses, fruit, cakes and more.

Lost a little bit at this age but definitely drinkable. Not going to rate it being past it’s prime I’m sure.

I was going to give it a 3.75, but then we missed it with ginger ale, and dear lord in heaven that was amazing

For an 8-year-old beer, we were very pleased with this one. Full raspberry fruitiness, but neither too sweet nor tart. Strong but not boozy. Very enjoyable. Courtesy of my friend Ted's cellar.

Out fricken standing. 8 years old and just crushing it. Perfect body. Perfect carbonation. Some froth that lasted 10-15 min, easy. A delicious strawberry-raspberry pie filling. Just the lightest of funk. Early entrant into fav beer of the year.

This is one of my ole time faves. So much rich raspberry flavors, sweet cherries. Very mild tartness. Just a great fruit beer.

This beer has too much raspberry. It's overly sweet, even after 7 years.

Waited months to finally crack this open and when I say it’s amazing I mean it’s amazing - starts off sweet, almost with like a raspberry glaze or sauce, and moves into dark, almost dark fruit like raisins or dried figs - keeps on going and going.

This is a surprise. Still fantastic, full of raspberries with very minimal oxidation. Plenty of carb and holds a halo of head.

Yes, it’s the 2015. Purchased for my wife while pregnant and she won’t even get it try it now that our son is 7. Smells like lillies and tastes like raspberry frosting. If only my kid aged this well.

Losing a little of it’s punch, but still pairs really well with a thick filet mignon. Happy Mother’s Day Dawn P.! ❤️
