Velvet Rush

Brown Ale - Imperial / Double

Borrowing elements from both high-end craft cocktails and moody jazz clubs, Velvet Rush takes the bourbon barrel-aged brown ale up an octave with free-flowing notes of coffee, chocolate and vanilla extract. Milk sugar aids in weaving together this complex tapestry of flavors to create a unique sipping experience that really ties the room together.

Don’t normally drink in the morning, but sharing beers with my friend Andrew living in Japan. This one is as advertised, but seems to lack “soul”. I taste everything in the profile, but the barrel age on this one seems more formality than necessary?

Founders continually nails these barrel aged beers. Such a tasty brew! Flavors blend so well together. May have to get another pack. ☕ 🍺

Smooth up front, nutty, lotsa chocolate and sweetness from vanilla. I like the coffee bitterness on the finish. From my Belmonts beer club!!

This beer is complex, with multiple layers to the experience. It’s subtle at first sip, lingering barrel aged boozyness,on the front pallet lends a smooth and creamy transition into a subtle sweetness with a dry cocoa/coffee bean finish. Delightfully rich

This is a terrific imperial brown ale. Lots of coffee notes. Ridiculously smooth and creamy for an 11 banger. Picking up some peanuts as well. Very nice.

Share with Karen before I left mom’s house .. my goofy expression is a result of my big brother punching me right before the photo was snapped .. Karen loved the beer .. not sure another US brewer does brown ales better than Founders 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

Strong, slightly tangy coffee flavor. Not much bourbon. Pretty decent beer.

Interesting beer. Very good, but it's not really what I think of when someone says brown ale

That’s really good! Coconut, chocolate, a bit of boozy heat. Some coffee in the finish, along with the bourbon.

Another great beer from Founders. Really interesting - a perfect blend of flavors normally found in a stout but offset by the lighter flavors of a brown ale. Surprising and really good. Thank you Abby for introducing it to me!!!
