Excellent like most of Founder's BA offerings. Lots of coffee but not really as creamy as expected with the milk sugar. Lighter than most of their BA beers as would be expected of a brown ale.

Not smooth like the name "Velvet" implies...it is a pretty boosie mash up of a thin coffee forward stout with hints of chocolate, vanilla, carmel, and cinnamon. Too much going on, and not pleasant on the palate.

Smells like an iced coffee and has a strong coffee upfront presence, but it slowly mellows out at the end where the chocolate, vanilla & milk sugar all takes over for a smooth finish. Wouldn’t know this was done in bourbon barrels though. Good not great
