Velvet Rush

Brown Ale - Imperial / Double

Borrowing elements from both high-end craft cocktails and moody jazz clubs, Velvet Rush takes the bourbon barrel-aged brown ale up an octave with free-flowing notes of coffee, chocolate and vanilla extract. Milk sugar aids in weaving together this complex tapestry of flavors to create a unique sipping experience that really ties the room together.

That’s a solid brown ale. And it’s barrel aged.

Decent but missing a little of the bite I was hoping it would have.

Regretted not getting the KBS vanilla cinnamon cocoa, but an outstanding, full-bodied brown ale nonetheless

First sip. Wow. Sweet and red velvet like. But really the bourbon takes over after that and I like it. I like that it's an aged porter rather than just another stout. This one is kinda going right to the head I can tell. I need food.

A decent dessert beer for a guy like me who doesn't want.a cake pop in a glass. Occasionally getting a bit of that seemingly overdone sweetness that doesn't do it for me, but overall a very nice blend of flavors. Love that the barrel isn't overwhelming.

Get a green coffee bean feel from this one. Leaves a dry cocoa finish in the mouth.

Another solid barrel aged offering from Founders. Not too sweet and a nice amount of coffee with vanilla.

Fairly sweet, very flavorful, well balanced flavors. Definitely a dessert beer. Would not pair it with a meal.

Loads of coffee, maybe a little too much. Bitter chocolate and trace vanilla. As Chris would say, Brown Ale 4 Life!

Strong coffee aroma and taste. Not much h barrel age detected but I probably shoul have let it warm up a bit more. Smooth with heavy coffee overtones.

Aroma of chocolate. What I expect from a brown ale. Getting the coffee and vanilla hints as well. Not a lot of barrel, but very tasty. Glad I got an extra one to share with my son, Steven G.!
