Velvet Rush

Brown Ale - Imperial / Double

Borrowing elements from both high-end craft cocktails and moody jazz clubs, Velvet Rush takes the bourbon barrel-aged brown ale up an octave with free-flowing notes of coffee, chocolate and vanilla extract. Milk sugar aids in weaving together this complex tapestry of flavors to create a unique sipping experience that really ties the room together.

Nutty nose of walnut and pecan. Round, soft mouthfeel with some lovely toasted cocoa and vanilla bean. The smooth chocolate finish is impressive. Better than expected with some subtlety and a burnt sugar/nutty/chocolate finish.

NEEDS SOME TIME AFTER OPENING. The first aroma was an almost unpleasant, cheap bourbon smell. This eventually dissipates but still leaves a mild acrid aftertaste in it's wake. Otherwise, this has a lovely mouth feel, sweetness, and baking spice notes.

Loads of coffee but not overbearing. The bourbon peeks through at the end

Jep.. koffie, chocolade, vanille & bourbon. Je proeft het allemaal, maar het geheel is me net wat te artificieel en waterig.

Chocolate Milkshake open. Very good up front. Too thin to hold the barrel age ABV. Alcohol creeps in half way through the glass,

This one I'm liking. Coffee, chocolate, a hint of vanilla on the nose and taste.

What a boring beer menu. This chain has certainly changed course.

Light bodied for a BBA, but tons of flavor. Really nice sipper alternative to an imperial stout.

Let the mini vacation begin! Nice notes of chocolate in a thinner body. A little sweet and malty.

Not bad but maybe just a little too thick. I don’t get much coffee from it.

Aroma is all coffee, then the chocolate can mess in to the flavor to make mocha. Wry good.

A little vanilla chocolate booziness. And coffee at a reasonable balance. Better as it warms.
