I have never had anything like this - really interesting but ultimately quite difficult to drink

I don’t really chase lambic anymore so I’m out of the game but this is fantastic

Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA Rooney
Better than the regular 120 - absolutely, but still a bit harsh and not well balanced

I really do not enjoy this. It tastes like a syrupy scented candle. Very uninteresting barrel character and so artificial

French Toast Bastard (Barrel Aged Series 2022) Rooney
Very decadent and sweet. I like it but it sits so heavy.

Backwoods Bastard (2014) Rooney
8 years is too long for this. Inoffensive, but a lot of little complexities and intensities that make this beer great are completely faded.

Backwoods Bastard (2016) Rooney
Still doing very well 6 years on. Bright, good barrel, booze has subsided a bit.

Backwoods Bastard (2020) Rooney
Not the best fresh(ish) vintage. Boozy, some astringency.

Much better than regular KBS. Feels less thin, bolder coffee, good stuff.

Still finding it wild that they made this one again and that I’m getting to try it. Not much carb, but fantastically funky and fruity nose, super tasty. This should age really well.

I don’t usually like nitro, but this is absolutely phenomenal on nitro

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Rooney
Very boozy but less fusel/solventy than regular WWS at release. Very good, excellent barrel.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Rooney
Sweeter than regular KBS, but creamier and thicker as well. Super fudgy. Nice coffee character. Definite step up.

This might be the #2 straight up porter in the country, after Everett. Very nice to see an old favorite still bring some happiness to the table

This was the first stout I ever liked - I heard about it on the radio and rushed to the Village Tavern in Geneseo to try it. I remember being dumbfounded that someone would think of putting coffee in beer. I was young, pastry time was so far away.
