Always thought KBS to have an abrasive bitterness, buzzsaw mouthfeel and boozy heat about it. In a good way! The espresso is not shy; amps the KBS coffee *right* up. There's also a really creamy chocolate in the mix (presumably incidental?)

Very bitter coffee, indeed espresso. Ashy with sweet licorice, caramel hints. Touch of booziness. Very intense flavor but not particularly complex. Doesn’t need to be though.

Slightly different from 2020, but not so different it would win you over if you didn't like last years.

Bottled 8/19/2021. Very smooth, mellow with wood. Roasty, balanced bourbon flavor, just a little sweet and spiced. Plenty of coffee bean flavor stands out more than chocolate.

Always much better on tap. Much better than the last few KBS variants I have tried.

Very tasty stout! Creamy coffee flavors not as much bourbon. Excellent! Recommend highly

Few beers that have claimed a coffee-forward flavor profile have actually delivered on that promise to the extent that this does. I’m not even a huge fan of that roasty taste, but its impossible not to give Founders their due for nailing this one.
