Wonderful clarity, extremely smooth. Not overly sweet or malty. Mild barrel. A pretty enjoyable beer but nothing shocking. Unsure that cellaring would prove any benefit except barrel fade.

About as smooth as it gets for a 10% abv beer. Highly recommend

The barrel really brings out a lot of caramel notes on the nose and the taste. The bourbon doesn't have anywhere to hide in a marzen so it tastes quite boozy. I kinda wish it retained a bit more marzen flavor but it's still pretty good

Someone told me to look for this and as always she was correct.

Anything Founders puts in a bourbon barrel is an automatic buy.

Better than the Lions. Actually quite good. Think Octoberfest marries Backwod Bastard

When cold it tastes like a heavy/vanilla marzen. Bourbon bite really starts to show as it warms. Even then, it’s a pretty tame note.

Pours that beautiful clear Oktoberfest amber, white lacing, and the first sip is a straight-up punch in the mouth. This brew has bite, from the alcoholic force to the barrel oak, semi-sweet malt and heavier body. This one caught me by surprise.

For a beer that doesn’t sound particularly appealing, this really well done. Hard to go wrong with Founders.

Smooth and malty. The bourbon steals the show it definitely is the prominent flavor here.

Like 2 giants clashing. German Oktoberfest and the mighty bourbon. The liquor scent waffles inside the cavity of your sinuses. The malty mixture blends with the bourbon and happiness erupts in your brain. This marriage somehow works. Smooth and soothing.

Smell the whiskey more than taste. Goes down very easy for a 10%

Not so much an Oktoberfest but more of an English barleywine than anything else. Notes of maraschino cherry and rich bourbony malt.

Yes, it looks like an undercarbonated Marzen, but 9 months in bourbon barrels leave it unrecognizable to traditionalists. High malty sweetness is offset by moderate bitterness and its firepower is offset by smoothness.

Best Oktoberfest ever Oktoberfest brew and bourbon barrel aging is an amazing combination.

Really happy with this one. Moderate malt, light Caramel, smooth, and bourbon barrel goodness. I'm a fan of the regular Founders Oktoberfest, and newly a fan of this one. Hope it's a annual release from now on.
