KBS

Stout - Imperial / Double Coffee

This beer taught us that patience truly is a virtue. KBS is a big imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolate and then bourbon barrel-aged to perfection. Incredibly silky and full-bodied with notes of vanilla, cocoa, roasted coffee and charred oak.

Cerveza "suavecita" de 12% de volumen de alcohol, puro café. Está riquísima. Pero para tomarse una si se quiere llegar a casa.

Nice mouthfeel. Tasty. Super high ABV, so I can’t enjoy too many of them.

Because this is too good not to savor from a cool glass, I chose to use one Kathleen M. gave me for my birthday! Keto starts hard tomorrow!

Strong coffee in the nose and in the finish. (I would prefer a little less.) Hints of chocolate that comes out more as it warms. So full bodied one could call it rubenesque.

Surprised this is isn’t logged as I’ve had this several times. Aged for 3-4 years, Coffee faded, bourbon still there, balanced and smooth.

This might be an all pro stout flight line up and this was to kick it off. Big smooth bourbon taste at 12%

Oh my, that bourbon sings! The alcohol heat hits at the end. Not as viscous as I had feared. I don’t get a huge amount of coffee, maybe the bourbon overpowers it.

Not as good as it used it be, but still delicious, on a crisp fall day.

Aged a year…. It was unkind. Now had a very bitter profile. Won’t be finishing :/ I won’t change the rating as I aged it. It is originally an excellent drink

Great breakfast beer. Chocolate comes through clear and strong, but doesn’t overdo it.
