Smooth and mellow but boozy pine caramel and coffeeish butterscotch. Medium body, not heavy at all.

Take an already tasty Scotch Ale and ramp it up with barrel aging, and you get a fabulous brew. Oaky, boozy bourbon, caramel notes, a whiff of smoke, and the taste buds are doing a happy dance.

Need to buy some of this in bottles and let it age a bit. The wood is, well, a little too woody. As it matures I'd expect the wood to evolve into more a vanilla and the earthy note will blend into the caramel malt flavor. Even young it's still very good.

This is really good. Wee heavy. Full palate of flavors in a very smooth scotch ale. Taste vanilla bourbon, oak barrels, scotch, roasted malts, Carmel, hint of smoke, dark berries & pepper. Great flavor without heavy sweetness. So good. 11% ABV, 50 IBU.
