Reminds me somewhat of a dutch apple pie. Although I'm getting a lot of cinnamon and, especially, ginger. If nothing else, it definitely tastes like the holidays. Sweet and packs quite a bit of heat.

Didn’t read the packaging closely enough. Was expecting a stout and not a 12.8% ABV barleywine. Not unhappy, as it’s pretty tasty and drinks way too easily.

Founder's has set a bar for their high ABV beers. They have a baseline of 4.0. This Barleywine is no exception and the flavor is just the holidays wrapped up in a bottle.

A lot going on here... ginger, caramel, cinnamon, bourbon, etc... It's like a bunch of different types of Christmas cookies all mixed together with a side of bourbon on the rocks! It's a really nice sweet treat for Christmas! 🎄 🍻

Barrel-aged barleywine ale with ginger, cinnamon and clove. VERY heavily spiced, kinda tasty and guaranteed to clear your sinuses thoroughly! Lol 👃🤧🍻

Gingerbread has always been one of my favorite Christmas treats because it’s more spicy than sweet. Same can be said for this brew. Barley wine style makes for an interesting contrast to similarly spiced stouts

This is definitely not for those who don't like spice. Smells like a ginger snap. Very heavy on the ginger and clove. Boozy.

Ginger spice for Christmas Eve night. Ginger definitely mellows as it warms up. A little overpowering when it’s cold.

Big notes of ginger, nutmeg, and clove....some hints of vanilla and oak from the barrel-aging. The flavors definitely meld together better as it warms.
