Fun to drink such an aged beer supplied for Extreme Beer Fest, some fruit, little hops, but still can't get into barley wines

Smell is INTENSE but the flavor is quite caramel, faint hops, and some leather forward.

Cellared for over 12 years. Minimal carbonation. Very pruny with butterscotch.

Might a bit too aged, but good. Taste like congac. Orange. But had an offness

I think it is too old. The dates and figs are definitely the predominant flavor but they are off at this point and too old and oxidized dates and figs

Sugar, caramel and butter. The spice you expect. Tough and strong.

Haven't had one of these in years. Nice treat. Dogfish is great at these obnoxiously strong beers.

A classic barleywine in every sense of the world, 8 years in the bottle has really brought the malt forward and chilled out the hops.

A warm, boozy sensation from the moment it rolls over the lips and enters the body. The fig/date is prominent and the enjoyment grows with each sip. Since I'm not much of a barleywine aficionado I'm going to rate this high because I like it.

Yup. Sorry Travis L. I should have held this one for ya.

Gifted by great friend BTender @ DFish Alehouse Gaithersburg. Told me it was 2013 version. Has lost some carbonation but definitely not the taste. Extremely smooth drinking. Flavors are full of dates/figs. Chewy as it warms. Subtle boozy finish Wow!!!

A nice 56 degree Fall night to sip on this. Aged beautifully. Dark fruits tobacco brown sugar with a nice bite. Wish I had more. 4.40ish

HNY! “Honey, Frank the Tank is not coming back, okay? That part of me is over. It's water under the bridge. I promise.” Still has time on it. Sweet and a delicious carmel bomb. Hops still hopping and kicking around with some decent bitterness. 🍻1️⃣❤️🌎☮️

I cannot detect any degradation in this barleywine, but I could be impaired at this point. But, it is so good. Right from Dogfish Heads Cellar. Can’t beat that.

Boozy caramel, rum-soaked raisins, toffee, fig, prune; very complex nose. Medium bodied, with little-to-no carbonation. Taste is prune up front, with some date and fig notes. Raisin and burnt caramel round out the palate with a lingering sweetness.

Rich sweet fruity, mellow subdued hops. Real smooth and tasty with enough booziness to remind you how strong it is! Could have gone a few years longer
