Fruit-Full Fort

Strong Ale - Other

A twist on our beloved Fort, Fruit-Full Fort is brewed with four types of berries - raspberry, blackberry, boysenberry and elderberry. This juicy blend of dark berries creates depth and complexity reminiscent of a jammy red wine.

Jammy berry with a soft tart, bitter finish. Boozy for sure but surprisingly not as hot as I was expecting

Riding the edge of over-aged but we love a good time experiment around here 👍

Aged now two years. Very boozy now with a mellow berry flavor. Slightly tart. Very good. Slight jolly rancher finish.

I think aging this beer for 4 years is too long, there is some interesting malt flavor and fruit flavor. But there was a lot off sediment in the bottom of the bottle and an overwhelming acetic flavor.

Dangerously drinkable for 18 whopping percent. Pours like dark earthy kids grape Motrin. Drinks like a fruity motor oil puree. Most prominent flavor is raspberry and a Belgian quad wheat kicker

Another taster, a definite strong fruity brew, and a bit dangerous at this ABV.

Bottled on 06/26/18. Purchased sometime in 2021. Opened today. A very unique beer. Starts booze heavy, then as my pallette adjusts the berry really came out. Biz didn't agree, bur she drank her half really fast. Don't even know what to rate it as.

Found this in the cellar. Bottled in 2018. Still fruity after all these years! Boozy as all get out. A little chunky, but I’ll deal with that. 🍻

Don't remember what vintage it said in the store at Dogfish, and can't read the date unfortunately. 03/15/1? is what I can make out.

Definitely prefer regular Fort, but this was interesting. Berry notes are noticably more tart here, and there is a slight bitterness present too

As with most DFH beers, I can always appreciate the commitment to trying new things, and no different here: I respect the efFORT. But it simply doesnt improve upon the OG. Fruit is on the medicinal side and minimizes the overall complexity.

I regret opening this on my own. This 18% beer should have been shared as a taster among a few people. My rating is probably a bit harsh but I am struggling with the boozy berry taste. It delivers what is advertised.

Gave em 12 today. 2 hrs driving and 10 hrs working. It was a busy day. Ok I can kinda taste the raspberry and blackberry if I try real hard but I wouldn’t know a boysenberry or elderberry if you filled my mouth with either. It’s not too fruity to me 🍻

Hmm, 18%, but you don’t tell us this on the bottle. Quite a bit fallen, but the fruit holds up. Not so good but maybe a beer lost in the Meadosian morass.
