Always adventurous- not bad, but not my favorite detour by DFH

Jonathan N. Says the nose is like Welch's aged in oak barrels...and I agree. Mouthful of sweet juice with a surprisingly bright and vibrant body. Finish is a lingering essence of grape skin and it is not normal. Wow.

2017 release, cellared, sweet jam, boozy, coffee w slight smokiness?

Another one that just does not hit me on the richness scale. Enjoyable pour though.

Me la tomé después de la Qoris, y qué sabor tiene! Mezcla de café con un toque dulzón por las uvas y el estar macerado en roble.

Interesting grape. 10 abv is smoothed as flat as the midwest.

A tad thin for an RIS. Roasty with a faint hint of grape.

Not a fan of the grape note. But a strong stout is hard to deny.

A delicious aroma, and well-balanced, with the oak coming through really nicely at the end, but it really lacks the depth and complexity you’d expect from a beer like this, especially in the thin aftertaste. Some cool flavors but nothing mind blowing

#1300! 2018 aged. Roasty. Masked abv. Heavy coffee flavor. A pretty unique body that’s smooth and lingering on the pallet.

So I see this on the bottom shelf covered with actual dust and barked down to $9. Thinking ‘how bad could it be’? Not sure when it was released but at 10% would have been a little better a year or so ago 🥴🍺👊🏽

Pairs ok with chili. Tastes like stout with some wine poured in.

Mmmm complex..... coffee/chocolate at first.... then dry plum wine aftertaste....

It is definitely a stout but is very thin. Coffee, and a little bit of chocolate.

Rich, creamy, and smooth from the oak aging. Hints of chocolate and a touch of sweetness on the finish. At 10% I think Ray B. is trying to get me drunk!

Reminiscent of a port wine with a chocolate/coffee forward. Pretty decent.

A 2020 brew, doesn’t seem to be at heavy on the port wine flavor. Seems like a better balance this year.

From 1/10. Feel like I enjoyed this much more previously. Seemed rather harsh this time around. The stout up front & the grape on the end didn't seem to flow or complement each other.

Last of the four pack. Aged five years. Not bad but not doing much for me. Might have lost whatever shine it may have had.
