Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout

Stout - Imperial / Double

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, we've now taken this Dogfish Head classic and aged it on oak with real vanilla beans! With a little tender love and care we foster this beer from smooth, sweet wort into the big, bad blackend stout it always longed to be. Its bold, port-like complexity goes great with (or as) dessert.

Bottled 7/6/2017. Still has a little barrel burn, more like a mellow warmth with a tiny bit of char. Vanilla is still present if not subdued. For a 7 year old beer, it's pretty good but I'm lowering my score from when I last had it in 2017 a bit.

Quite good, big bold boozy flavors including chocolate, coffee and vanilla in a barrel-aged body, finishes full and a touch dry.

Okay, so, stay with me here. Had a crazy idea and made a black and, uh, sour (?) with the WWS and Fruit Full Fort. Surprisingly good! Not as sweet and gooey as FFF, but without the lingering aftertaste of the WWS. Full-bodied, boozy and yummy!

Discontinued as far as I know. Aged at least two yrs in my kitchen and probably another year or more before that. Highest abv I’ve had in years. Great. Oak and malt on the nose, candied vanilla and caramel taste, medium finish.

Happy Stout Day! Got very lucky finding this at my local shoppe, owner just brought it out of the cellar bottled 2017. There is surprising vanilla flavors here as I thought they would've all but vanished with age. Makes me wonder what it was like fresh!

Its a Dogfish Head day. 2017 bottling on this one. Very vanilla forward and one of the best balances between sweet and dry.

FLN, had no clue this was 17% since it didn’t have an abv listed on the label 🤔 very smooth with super light booze despite the 17%, nice sweet vanilla, maybe a little bit flat but still better than expected

Definitely feel the burn on the way down but taste wise it’s not bad at all. Smooth considering the ABV. Definitely a sipper.
