Oak-Aged Vanilla World Wide Stout

Stout - Imperial / Double

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, we've now taken this Dogfish Head classic and aged it on oak with real vanilla beans! With a little tender love and care we foster this beer from smooth, sweet wort into the big, bad blackend stout it always longed to be. Its bold, port-like complexity goes great with (or as) dessert.

Not sure of the date on this, but still nice vanilla, just a little too much barrel at this point.

Somehow 17.5% wasn’t enough to bring it to dryness. Sweet, brown sugar, cocoa nibs, caramel and toffee. Super boozy with all the bourbon notes you know and love. The vanilla has faded with age but still lots of oak. Amazing!

Dark opaque black oil. Aroma dark malts, coffee, oak, bourbon. Licorice and toasted vanilla. Taste is velvet sweetness and malt burnt ends with coffee, vanilla bean, bourbon. Dessert wine. Warming alcohol. Smoke and char. Sweet cherry old fashioned.

Mixed a 2017 with a 2014 120 IPA to create an unbelievable Heaven and Hell. Good company, Happy 2023.

Muito chocolate, muita baunilha. Tá num nível que não consigo ver stouts nacionais chegando. Chega a ser estranho. É uma cerveja envelhecida com sabor absurdo!

This was next and was pretty good too. The vanilla seemed very pronounced, and it was pretty boozy.

Ever have anything go sour after 5 years? I checked in a year ago glowing. I enjoy sours, and I can usually enjoy something that went sour, but don't ever remembering it happening after this long.

Bottled 7/27/17 The vanilla is surprisingly present! Smooth and fairly thin, nice balance between chocolate town & booze-ville
