Palo Santo Marron (2017)

Brown Ale - Imperial / Double

A vintage of Palo Santo Marron. An unfiltered, unfettered, unprecedented brown ale aged in handmade wooden brewing vessels. The caramel and vanilla complexity unique to this beer comes from the exotic Paraguayan Palo Santo wood from which these tanks were crafted. Palo Santo means "holy tree" and its wood has been used in South American wine-making communities

Deeply woody. A bit sweet with vanilla.

Right. Woody as hell, malt astringency and light caramel/vanilla behind. Been a minute, missed this

Wow dark and so smooth. Slight rich caramel and vanilla. A great start to Seattle Beer week with Stour Fest!

It seems to have faded a bit after 6 years. Bitterness seems much more forward. But still better than most! And pics of beer is boring. So have a puppy.

After 40 months in the cellar this excellent beer has aged beautifully. Fruit, chocolate, char, a gigantic expansion on the brown ale base.

Still a bit sharp but the roasty goodness still slaps.
