Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA

IPA - American

The Holy Grail for hopheads, 120 Minute IPA is continuously hopped with a copious amount of high-alpha American hops throughout the boil and whirlpool, aged in Sam Adams Utopias barrels for a full twelve months, and then abundantly dry-hopped.

Global average is much higher than my score. Better than regular, fresh 120M IPA but needs some age to shine I believe.

Densely packed with dates, figs and raisins. Feels like a barleywine over IPA but I'm not complaining. Great sugar density that doesn't become cloying with the most subtle heat helping the wine elements surface.

I think this should be eligible for #BarleywineWednesday, especially since the other stuff I drank tonight was BW-adjacent too.

I've been waiting to try this. 17%, so I already knew what to expect. It didn't disappoint. Boozy and sweet but rich and flavorful. A slow sipper. Purchased at a little liquor store on Speedway Blvd in Tucson.

Lost check in. None of this experience lacked. Great spin off to the original, hope they keep making this.

Seemed like a good choice for lunch. Definitely get the Utopias, but almost tasted like a barleywine.

Want more hops, more boozy than hoppy for a triple IPA. Good, but not like the classic.

Lots of boozy cherry whiskey notes. Drinks more like a mead or mixed whisky drink than any beer ive had. Extremely potent and bitter but has a sweet cinnamon cherry after flavor. lots of woody barrel notes as well
