World Wide Stout (2016)

Stout - Imperial / Double

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, World Wide Stout is dark, rich, roasty and complex. This ageable ale clocks in at 15-20% ABV and has a depth more in line with a fine port than with a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer.

👃- raisin, light barrel, cherry, chocolate 👅- bitter cherry leads the way, w/ strong boozy notes mid, followed by hint of raisin. Finishes w/ heat and is intensely warming as it lingers. Full-bodied and maintains some bubbly carbonation.

Always great with some age on it. Dangerously smooth, tastes like half of the ABV.

Enjoyed 2020. Still yummy with its raisin-y goodness.

Most of booziness has mellowed. Thick, sweet raisins.

That's a lot of booze and chocolate still! But I love it. Not too heavy. Gorgeous as always Dogfish!

Last one. Mellowed out quite a bit -alcohol isn’t detectable anymore. Also not as smoky as I remember it. Watching the HBO Max DB Cooper documentary.

This is still a very intense beer. The alcohol has smoothed some, but as feel it would still benefit from a couple of more years. We’ll see

Hmmm... may not age as well as advertised. Just OK. All flavors seem very muted. Maybe a bad bottle?
