World Wide Stout (2016)

Stout - Imperial / Double

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, World Wide Stout is dark, rich, roasty and complex. This ageable ale clocks in at 15-20% ABV and has a depth more in line with a fine port than with a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer.

Catch up - as dangerous as they come. Super dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut and creamy milk flavors throughout and the robust coffee levels just keep kicking at the end of each sip.

Thankfully four years absolutely tamed the heat. This is a delicious, toasty and toasty malty stout with big chocolate undertones. I wish more of the caramel apple sweetness from when it was fresh stayed.

Starting the night out strong. Cellaring this beer allowed the dark, malty notes to intensify and the finish is roasty, with hints of ash

So smooth, nice strength. A dark smokiness.

Dangerously smooth for the ABV. Time has mellowed this beautifully, turning what I assume to be a fiery strong stout into a decadent, silky, delicate flavor trip. Warms beautifully into bourbon, and evolves as it sits in the glass

Nice to revisit after so many years. It has aged well but still has a bit of heat. Not a bad thing for such a beast. Slight burnt sugar and toffee flavors. Some roast coffee thrown in. Actually kinda enjoyed more fresh on this batch.

Smooth as can be. I'm getting vanilla, maybe a little caramel...this is outstanding.

I’m not sure all the aging was a good thing. This is still good, but I was expecting great.

A well aged World Wide Stout is perfection in malt form. Once it's aged into it's pocket, there is no improvement possible. 4 years seems to be enough.

Still one of the best imperial stouts around. Holding on to this for a couple years made it a bit more fruity but worth the wait.

Boozy and not unique. Can't say what I loved about it, but still a decent base. Vanilla oaked version is much better. Overall, I would say these are not worth the price. Another $2 and you have a bomber of BBB.

this one aged into a wondefully rich stout. Alcohol bite tamed down but left with a thick coffee and roasted barley taste. Glad to have held onto this one!

4 years old. More fruity than roasty. Maybe held too long.

I think four years in the cellar has improved this. Alcohol bite has mellowed. I get dried stone fruits and fudge. It's thick and the finish is long like a good bourbon. Great to celebrate homeownership with a beer I've been saving.

Bought this 6months ago at Kunda Bev and kept it in the fridge ever since. I guess sitting out in a beer store didn’t do it any justice.
