World Wide Stout (2016)

Stout - Imperial / Double

Brewed with a ridiculous amount of barley, World Wide Stout is dark, rich, roasty and complex. This ageable ale clocks in at 15-20% ABV and has a depth more in line with a fine port than with a can of cheap, mass-marketed beer.

My son turned 1 today... A reason to celebrate with this classic. Zero carbonation, still quite boozy, but actually finishes pretty good.

6 years old. First impression was soy sauce… initially thought I would have to drain this one but it grew on me. Ok; but definitely past its prime.

I dunno. I thought this was still bearable at first. It’s not. Past it’s time.

Dark cherry, pomegranate, caramel, fig, & deep cabernet take the fore, w/ heavy roast & a sprinkle of brown sugar mid-palate, leather & cocoa powder late, & unmistakable soy @aftertaste. Nary a whiff of booze, let alone 18%. Chewy, coating mouthfeel. N/R.

Happy New Year. Pulled one out of the reserve. Lost carbonation over 7 years, but taste is still on point.

Fan-fricking-tastic. Chocolate, caramel taste with a subtle booziness. Gets richer the more it warms up. It’s a religious experience that requires it to be shared. Thankfully, I have more and will share; this is a test tasting.

Bought this 6months ago at Kunda Bev and kept it in the fridge ever since. I guess sitting out in a beer store didn’t do it any justice.

Boozy with a slight astringency. Moderately roasty, thinner than expected body for its abv, some coffee notes. I like boozy stouts but this isn’t for me.
