Wegmans took the glass doors off their expensive beer shelf and I found this gem. Notes of toffee, prunes and booze on the nose. The flavor though. It tastes like the word smooth sounds. Caramel and espresso flavors and just a hint of cocoa.

Did a little vertical action this past weekend. This mellowed a bit but was still rather roasty.

Still one of the best imperial stouts around. Holding on to this for a couple years made it a bit more fruity but worth the wait.

this one aged into a wondefully rich stout. Alcohol bite tamed down but left with a thick coffee and roasted barley taste. Glad to have held onto this one!

I think four years in the cellar has improved this. Alcohol bite has mellowed. I get dried stone fruits and fudge. It's thick and the finish is long like a good bourbon. Great to celebrate homeownership with a beer I've been saving.

👃- raisin, light barrel, cherry, chocolate 👅- bitter cherry leads the way, w/ strong boozy notes mid, followed by hint of raisin. Finishes w/ heat and is intensely warming as it lingers. Full-bodied and maintains some bubbly carbonation.

Holy shit. Clocking in at 18%, this is by far the punchiest beer I've ever tasted. Thank goodness I already drove home.

Just the best long aged stout. Only thing that holds it back from a 5 is mouthfeel and no barrel.

How this could be purchased in a retail establishment after five years is beyond me. It’s as close to perfect as I can really imagine.

Celebrating International Stout Day with an OG. 5 years aged on this bad boy and it’s fantastic.

Still tasting great after 5 years. Smooth creamy dark chocolate and raisin. No oxidation! Booze is hardly noticeable, its really well integrated.

Wow, grinning war to ear. This monster has really enjoyed it's time in the dark. Huge boozey nose, but very smooth. Enjoyed this over the course of an hour, as usual, got better as it warmed up. The last sip was the best of the bottle. Layers of flavor...

Aging makes the chocolate really come through. Very smooth and goes down easy

This one has aged very well. More port-forward than it was previously.

Decided to break this out to wind down after a weekend of home renovations.

This ain’t no Guinness! Woooooooooooooo! It’s got some booze to it but now, after 6 years, it’s balanced and has plenty of depth.

Strongest beer I’ve ever had at 18%. While it’s strong, it’s very smooth. Wouldn’t be able to drink a lot, but you wouldn’t have to.

Wow. The age has mellowed it out but it still packs a nice flavor punch.

Breakfast beer from my Cellar this morning-Amazing! Layers of sweet plums/berries, dark chocolate, roast malt, and lots of boozy heat! My kinda beer, and one that holds it age well (kinda like moi)…
