Can’t help but feel lucky. I thought this might’ve faded completely away but chocolate and coffee are still present.

Untappd says that I last had this in 2016. Is that possible? If so, then I’m dumb. I had forgotten just how lovely a coffee stout this is. No frills, just a great tasting beer.

French Toast Bastard (Barrel Aged Series 2022) Bandla
Still a little heat, even after sitting in the cellar for a year. Maple/cinnamon still present. Keeping my last bottle to do a side by side with this year’s version.

Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA Bandla
Obviously hot at 17%, yet still smoother than expected. Definitely need to buy some to put in the cellar.

Wake Up World Wide Stout Bandla
Lots of coffee up front, followed by the maple/oat milk sweetness (luckily, not TOO sweet). Nice spin on WWS.

Ok. The barrel overtakes any real Marzen flavor that you would be looking for. That being said, it is a tasty bourbon barrel aged beer. Pretty significant heat - might let this sit for a little bit before I open the next one.

Some styles don’t need extra hops. Going to age the rest & see if these hops mellow out some. Doesn’t really drink like a barleywine.

Definitely less sweet than previous versions (this is a good thing). Raspberry & a hint of dark chocolate. Roasty finish brings it together. Nice.
