Almost tastes like licorice. Definitely aged. 2 years old almost. Boozy AF.

Amber. Effervescent when first opened. Sweet nose with ester notes and a hint of sherry. Big sweet syrupy body somewhat balanced by a big bitter finish. Bottled Aug 2019. The bottle says “Enjoy now or age for a decade or so”. This beer didn’t last!

Does not age perfectly. It is still an IPA, still hoppy and sweet, but notes of acidity, vinegar and bitterness are a bit too harsh. Not my cup of beer.

More like a strong ale than an IPA. It’s decent but I’m underwhelmed considering the hype, not hoppy enough.

This is much better than the 2006 and 2007 vintages I have had lately. It actually has some aspect of an IPA in flavor. But very malty. I stand by my assertion that this is MUCH better in tap than it is out of a bottle.

It’s like m’amasses flavored cough syrup if cough syrup tasted like beer kind of. No thanks.

I hate to give a beer that’s so beloved such a low rating, I’m just not a fan.

Damn tasty. It's almost a barley wine. I love aging 120

I like this better with a year on it than fresh. I guess that puts me in the majority.

A bit on the cloudier side, but still not approaching Life.

Wow. Just…. Wow. So thankful to get my hands on this beer and to be able to age it for 3 years. Truly amazing beer.

Sweet, bitter, smooth vs the richness of 90. Maybe stonefruit. Happy New Year! 🥳🎉

Nose is terrible. Initial taste is super sweet. Immediately turns bitter and off putting. Not oxidized, but just not good. Taste like a boozy mess.
