Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2017) Smith

Carbonation has fallen off quite a bit, but still a smooth, rich beer loaded with chocolate and coffee. Bourbon and booziness is there but has really mellowed out

Damn, this is the way to cap the weekend! The perfect mix of funky sourness with moderate tartness, and a dry wine barrel finish.

Cork was super funky, but now that it’s been ope a bit, the beer is fantastic. Funky and mild tartness, oak barrel. Great beer on a beautiful day.

Lou Pepe Gueuze (2013) Smith

An absolutely fantastic beer. Tart, sour, funky in all the right ways. Mild lemon/lime citrus and plenty of barrel character. Very smooth with a dry finish. Incomparable beer!

KBS Espresso (2020) Smith

So much bitter coffee you barely get the bourbon. Definitely a coffee beer that happens to have spent time in bourbon barrels, but I really dig it.

Palo Santo Marron (2009) Smith

No carb but thick, smooth chocolate with a dry, woody finish. Quite delicious despite a lack of carb. One of the cellar beers that made the cross-country move with me back in 2012!

Coffee is not as strong but definitely still there. Chocolate and bourbon. Nice.

Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio (2016) Smith

Perhaps I shoulda read the label “it has a very long shelf life” before I opened it, but it’s fantastic. Sour, slightly funky, and the extreme dryness balances the tartness. Definite oak barrel.
