Pours incinerated straw. Intense plum nose. Taste is intense dark fruit/black pepper/tobacco and alcohol

Utopias Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout (2020) Savada
Abv not listed on bottle but boy is this a winter warmer. Smoothes down the base beer intensely well.

Utopias Barrel-Aged 120 Minute IPA Savada
Sure smells like a Utopias. Toffee sherry nose. And alcohol. Not your average IPA. I would call this a raisiny barleywine but DH wants to market it otherwise. Don’t down a 6 pack! Hops are hard to find.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019) Savada
My last bottle (I think) and it has aged very nicely. Dark brown color (what else?) bourbon chocolate nose. Sort of a baker’s chocolate taste with some light bourbon. A very nice liquid fudge. Some dryness

Nose is minty resiny hop. Taste is quite resiny (not piney) and maybe a hint of juniper leaves. Too much going on here. Want some (non poisonous) sumac, this is for you! Strange hybrid of red ale and grand cru, and it leans more red ale.

It has been 6 years since I sampled this high octane triple ipa. Resiny and hoppy nose. Syrupy too. Same notes in the taste. This beer needs to be sipped and savored. Some hints of vanilla

Nose a little weaker than 2018. Not as well developed but the roast is bolder. Sweet coffee with the same light bourbon hints.

My last bottle and having the 2019 next. Nice bourbon nose. Nice coffee roast but kind of rough blend. Ok but nothing extraordinary today (it has before), but it does improve with each sip. Alcohol warmth deep in a.t.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Savada
Boozy leathery dark fruit and boozy (yeah I said it twice) and just in the nose. Very utopia-ish nose and possibly even better for a fraction of the price (if you can find utopia at all) maybe some coconut and a touch of vanilla

Oude Geuze Boon (2017-2018) Savada
Less barnyard than the 2018-2019 version, and slightly more tart apple, although the apple is barely there. Texture is more granular but smoother. Some metallic/mineral tone in the finish.

Funky nose. More subdued than the other beers. More muddy and flavors less distinct. The apple is not that sour either and there is a citrus zest character.

Chocolate and vanilla with light sweetness in nose. Tastes almost imperial but nice mouthfeel. Good roast. Cocoa and light marshmallow.
