KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge Abbott

The most approachable KBS I’ve had yet – only a hefty punch to the forebrain. Lighter in texture than expected, but well balanced between toasty coffee notes and sweet chocolate fudge.

Lambic D’Haute Densité Abbott

Pure rancio. Raisins, sultanas, polished oak and stacks of gentle sourness.

Lou Pepe Kriek (2020) Abbott

A whole stack of different cherries: stewed, fresh sweet, fresh sour, Haribo and pie filling. Soft texture with a touch of yoghurty creaminess. Rather good, as expected.

Oude Geuze Boon Black Label (2015) Abbott

I failed to keep this bottle for as long as I planned, but it is ace. Dry, softly funky and without any bottle-ageing off notes. Just all mellow and delightful.

Trippelbock Frederiksdal Cherries Abbott

Well this is pretty special. Cherries dipped in chocolate injected with cherry liqueur. I will sleep well tonight...

Oude Geuze Boon Black Label (2015) Abbott

This hasn’t done that well in the bottle, but is still great. It’s dry as a bone and surprisingly soft, but has a touch of ‘I’ve been in the bottle too long’ funk and ashiness. I’ll keep the other bottle I have for a while to see if that goes away.
