Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2016) 12.4% Strauss
Last time I drank this was in February 22 and it was really good. Not no more. Went bye bye.

Such a weird beer to rate. Real strong and boozy. I know it's an IPA but it looks and drinks sort of like a barleywine. I thought I was not going to like this but Melissa and I were both surprised.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2014) Strauss
Check out the old school label. This is the last year they put on the label “A flavored stout”. No chocolate all coffee. Melissa doesn’t think it’s fair to rate this because it’s 8 years old but I would give it a 4.25. We probably stood in line for this.

Wow this really blew us away. I was expecting this to be too old but coffee, chocolate, barrel and not too sweet. Melissa says it was perfect.

After almost 2 months of construction we finally have our balcony back. I know there are a lot of people that are always down on founders but IMO KBS is solid year after year.

So Melissa and I are drinking only 2018 beers tonight. First was Central Waters which was delicious. This KBS smells like coffee, tastes like coffee, and Melissa says it’s dark chocolate coffee with a little bourbon.

Out of all the founders offerings this one is solid year after year after year. This 2018 is drinking great right now with awesome coffee flavors, dark chocolate and great barrel flavors.

So this is the oldest beer I have in the cellar. Even though I’m not a big barleywine fan this isn’t bad. Dried fruit flavor sort of like figs and dates.

Melissa - “make sure you bring a glass of water out with this one”. It doesn’t burn going down as bad as I remembered in the past.Strong boozy notes. Hard to judge this beer but it’s definitely interesting. It’s like a liquor IPA.
