Smoothed version of backwoods B. Barrel boozy maple sweetness has it all going for it. Nice slow drinker . Good carb lacing & body. Out of the park by founders.

Sears + Kmart…HP+compaq…sa + DFH….Rodenb + palm…. /This beer on its own is not bad…DFH known for ipas/stouts & off c ales,rodenb euro sours combine …dumbed down sour or what’s the point red..better than the 2019 V p’ocean etc.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) B
Third take on DFH WWS-big boozy hit w / “the burn”, not as oily & seems thinner than the previous iterations.Still a sipper&share with friend caliber/dark brown color,w/ bourbon full taste …sweetness lingers in the aftertaste awhile-never had utopiasSA

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2018) B
Out of the catacombs/shake off a bit of dust/aged nicely…definitely a boomer of a beeer. Sill laces nice / up front maple /smoke /bacon…..sharing this one . Prob a good thing

Seems to me - the barleywine is lost. More of a cross of scotch ale/wee heavy/ Imp IPA. (Ibu @ 75).Different/unusual/novelty-drink 2 you’ll be on your a** not sure of a rebuy...but I can respect this one.

Fruity-ish/cloudy yet seems filtered( nothing on the bottom of the bottle etc)..../ mango smell, odd bitter & dry finish- ( wouldn’t call it “spice”.. could be the “lassi”) - not a rebuy.......

There are better offerings in this style. A solid representative -no complaints

World Wide Stout - Bourbon Barrel Aged B
Barrel version of the DFH WW Stout, bold flavor w/vanilla bourbon & oak very drinkable (dangerous) @ such a high abv.

Pour appearance makes you think it’s a (on the heavy side) classic stout . Up front the coffee taste hits you .... then finished like a ipa (60ibu) bitter chocolate etc. interesting touch I guess ...not a complete fan.

Ridiculously dark & rich, bottled 2016. Oily, hardly a head at pour. Hands down a kick (or your) butt Imp Stout

What a disappointment from the original that started the pumpkin ale niche (circa 1990s). Like to do a side by side with SA pumpkin equivalent -I’d bet they’re about the same now. Thin & lackluster compared to prior offerings....punt.

Nice & on the heavy side for a brown ale. Hazel nut & coffee tastes are upfront and lingering . Good mouth feel -good job!

Boozy cross between heavy fruit stout & barelywine. Sweetness & alcohol push and overwhelm the taste. Gets better as it warms, more drinkable Jameyness comes forward. On the fence about this one as a re-purchase.
