What a pleasure to have this gem of a beer again. Why can’t they make this shit anymore. Fucking brilliant whiskey barrel. Vanilla subdued but still shows it’s presence. Incredibly adult and smooth.

Whut. 2011 bottle, thanks Tsutomu F.! Can’t believe how well this held up for 11 years and such a low ABV. Chipotle appears as a bit of vegetality, above dusty chocolatey porter. The barrel expression is hard to locate, unfortunately. Glad to try this!

Chocolate cake aromatic details. Elegant liqueur notes from the bourbon ageing. Bursts of sharp carbonation. Sweet mellow taste at the start, winding down with an emphatic bitter finish. Medium bodied.

Mouthfeel can definitely be thicker. But this reminds me of CBS more. Of course, that’s cause maple is just, you can’t hide it

Pear, sweaty grassy funk on the nose. Taste is quite different: nice Cantillon-funky tartness, hints of pear on the backend. Smooth, almost creamy body. Mouthwatering finish.
