Surprisingly tannic. Boozy more than coffee-forward. Bright in the body with a dark kick.

Nose is dark, boozy sweetness. Initial taste is rich and with coffee heavy sharpness, then the stout sweetness comes in hugging the tongue for a longtime even after the swallow, finally slow fading to gentle bitterness. Warming. Strong.

Much more espresso character than previous version, which overpowers the base stout. Not as full or rich as before. Didn't buy one to cellar. Had cellared and drunk the previous version, but seems I never checked in to it. Hmm.

6 years since I had this last. Much sweeter than I remember. But I do enjoy that it's not barrel aged. Sweetness is sort of drowning out the coffee.
