V Generations

Lambic - Gueuze

V Generations is a celebration of Belgian brewing passion that spans generations and continents. For blending day, two families came together, contributing their collective expertise and energy to the brew: From Belgium, Brasserie Cantillon’s Jean-Pierre Van Roy (who took a day off from retirement to lend his decades of experience), alongside his son Jean Van Roy and grandson Florian Van Roy; and from Philadelphia, Monk’s Cafe’s Tom Peters, side by side with his daughter Isabel Thomas-Peters. The result, a blend of four-year, three-year and two-year aged barrels, is the fruit of a long friendship, and a toast to generations to come.

Very fresh. So fresh it slapped My momma . This beer needs years before it shows any complexity. Right now it needs to watch its smart mouth.

When at Pliny Day, we’ll make a donation to sip some rare Cantillon suds! Funky, tart, peppery. I don’t have a scale for Lambics but this is phenomenal 🔥

2nd time trying this 🐳 , we all thought this needs a lot of time. Really bright citrus, and a little acidic at times. Should be great in 7-10 years

My first likeable, actually enjoyable sourish. Thanks Tom! You’ve given me hope! I like the touch off-bitterness like tasting the inside of the fruit’s stone or grinding an apple seed.

When in Rome, it’s slightly better out of the bottle, but really looking forward to what this beer will become in 5-10 years

A celebration of Belgian brewing passion that spans generations and continents. Created to celebrate Monk’s 25th Anniversary in 2022. Special Gueuze brewed by 5 generations of the Van Roy & Peters families, a blend of 4/3/2 year lambics. Fabulous, natch!
