4 Giants IPA

IPA - Imperial / Double

We’ve made a lot of imperial IPAs over the years and, in turn, have had a lot of arguments over which one is the absolute best. So, to settle this once and for all, our brewers mashed up four of our favorite recipes into the ultimate imperial IPA. 4 Giants boasts aggressive bitterness balanced by a malty, sweet backbone while huge aromatics come courtesy of the seven American hop varieties.

Too much off a mashup but can’t be dismissed.

Hoppy, piney, some grapefruit and bitter too. Back to traditional flavors. Very good brew from another amazing brewery.

A little aggressive on the palate. Big hop bitterness. Sharp. Pine needle, resinous. A very big beer

A mash-up of 4 of their double IPA recipes (Sleeper Cell, Grease Monkey, 10K, and Double Trouble if you were wondering). On the maltier side but pretty balanced overall.

The 2021 edition of the 9.2% imperial IPA is a mashup of four (4) Founders recipes and 7 American hop varieties. The pint can is a bit sweet, a bit bitter, and a bit malty.

Kinda expected this to be the imperial of imperials after reading the description, but it's just average. Guessing when you blend good things, nothing has a chance to shine.

Typical IPA. Well balanced and delicious piney hit with a subtle floral finish. All year round beer.

Whoa. This beer is pretty much what I was hoping it'd be. Huge hop-gushing mouthfeel on this which is quite unlike anything I've had before. Like opening a floodgate. Bitter and balanced and bright. Hits hard like a hammer at 9.2% ABV. Trying to (cont.)

Giant peachy pine with a deeper grapefruit citric core. Crisp. Softer floral backdrop with a dry malt foundation. Balanced one sided to the all mighty hop....and it’s awesome! Let’s Gooooooo Caaaaaaaaps!!!

4-4.25. It is fairly malty with a good amount of hops. It does have a nice tropical fruit note. 90 min is more my style as it’s more malty. This just has more hops and fruit notes. A good one and I’m not an ipa guy.
