Barrel aged series huh? Yes to bourbon...yes to chocolate...yes to coffee....and yes to 11.9 abv.

2019 vintage - coffee has faded but remarkably smooth - brown sugar, chocolate, hint of dark fruit - sweet but not cloying - pleasantly boozy.

Subtle bourbon notes and decent coffee profile from start to finish.

As a lover of brown ales and bourbon barrel aging, I was excited for this one and it does not disappoint. Nutty with notes of chocolate and caramel

Earthy, difficult to describe aroma with maybe (?) subtle black coffee in the background. The bourbon barrel jumps right out in the first sip and walks point the whole time. The brewer’s description pretty much nails it.

Very strong/boozy. Lots of strong coffee taste. Some ba flavor. Very good, expensive

Big fan of brown ale, brewed some for my first daughter’s wedding! This is obviously out of my brewing league, but love all the flavors fighting for my attention! Chocolate, coffee, bourbon, oak, and no doubt malt and hops!

Body may be a slight bit thin but the flavor isn't. Strong roast coffee, cocoa, subtle cinnamon and nice bourbon barrel. This is put together well and the high abv is not that noticeable in the taste.

Another good one from Founders, with a bit of a kick to it!

Not usually a fan of browns but this could change my mind. So coffee-y and creamy.

Drinking it chilled and out of the bottle. I can feel the thickness of it, it's coffee-ish, creamy and definitely taste the bourbon or oakness of it. This is a good beer to sip slowly on on a free evening and you don't gotta be up early.

Founders always deliveres. It did taste better in Vegas though...

It would be better if the coffee were toned down a bit. But otherwise solid.

Intense coffee notes hits you in the nose, caramelizes down the throat, before warming your belly. This is a dark dark brown ale that's so full of roasty flavours, it can almost pass off as a stout.

This is called a brown ale but the color is darker than any brown I have seen. The palate is a rich malty long lasting flavor. Notes of coffee and chocolate are there as well. This is a great sipping beer that I look forward to having again.

Dark chocolate, coffee, and little boozy, with warming alcohol in the finish. Wonderful sipper.
