Second bottle in the vertical, and while the coffee has been holding up more nicely than in the ‘18, the overall impression is not that of a beer that has developed well with age.

Thick but crisp mouthfeel. Massive amounts of bitter chocolate and coffee. Bourbon and wry alcohol in the aftertaste, which tastes a bit off, not blending well with the rest of the flavours. It's still nice though.

Yeah, this beer doesn't get better with aging. 2018 wasn't all that good, 2019 isn't either, but better than 2018. It's difficult to explain. 2019 is more smooth & chocolate/coffee, less bourbon. 2022 is opposite, bourbon 1st.

Pulled from cellar to celebrate my last workday today before retirement from my day job on 12.31.22. Bottled 02.12.19. A lot of chocolate. Other flavors kind of run together with a little oxidation. Probably aged too long. Smooth and still good, though.

Ook over zijn top maar een stuk beter dan de cbs van gisteren. Nog steeds veel bourbon en koffie, body begint wel wat minder te worden
