Oude Geuze Boon Black Label Edition N°4 Sauvillers

Lively. Lotsa (lemon) zeste. Smooth, bitterish. Mild funky. Soft zesty and funky aftertaste with a short sharp sourness and a bit dry, bitter finish. Good.

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2016) Sauvillers

Modest funky, bit sharp sour, woody, oak tanins. White grapeskins. Bit soft aftertaste with sharp sour stings and notes of a sweet white wine. Modest and linguering dry finish. Awesomely aged.

Saint Lamvinus (2019) Sauvillers

Funky, sharp sourish lambic. Modest blue grape flavour. Quite acidic, sharp sour aftertaste with deep blue grapes to finish. Reminds me a bit of cassis, blue/dark berries, even of their sang blue. Opens up real nice, mellowing a bit. Great one.

Boon Schaarbeekse Kriek Millesime 2020 Sauvillers

Light deep sour cherries, soft lambic. Funky, oaky, marzipan. Clean, soft sour and funky fruity aftertaste with woody and bitter notes. Elegant brew. Very good; nice balance between funky- and fruityness.

Ashanti (2023) Sauvillers

Pink pepper, sweetish. Funky sourish, bit spicy. More peppery in the aftertaste, extinguishing, soft funkyness with a little burning finish. Great one, love the balance.

Oude Geuze Apogee Sauvillers

Funky, bittery, lemon in the background. Very soft. Bit sparkling citrus. Smooth, funky, bitterish aftertaste with woody notes. I even get a bit of walnuts. Terrific blend of old and new.

Rose De Gambrinus (2023) Sauvillers

Fresh, green raspberries. Pits. Lactic acid. Undertone of funky (young) lambic. Bit juicy raspberries in the aftertaste together with a woody bitterness. Very good. Not as fruity as some other bottles I've had.

Fruity, tart, bitterish and a bit wry. A delicious way to end 2023!

Banana, caramel malt. Very sweet, estery. Aftertaste is more yeast and pleasant malty bitter. Herbal (pepper, clove) too. Decent.

Fou’ Foune (2022) Sauvillers

Bit dusty, deep apricots. More fruity apricots in the aftertaste together with a full bodied dry sourness. Lost much of its intense fruityness after 1 year, but the balance is still awesome. Great complexity. Terrific. One of my favourites from Cantillon.

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2013) Sauvillers

Nice head right after pouring. Very smooth and soft. Mild funky, grainy. Barnyard funk, cheesy. Bitterish aftertaste that flows into a deep but very gentle sourness. Also very fruity, sometimes very citrussy. So subtle, so rich: perfection.

Scarlet Dawn IPA Sauvillers

Hoppy bitter, resin in the background. Some fruity, floral and malty notes. Aftertaste is fresh, a bit fruity with a gentle, long lasting earthy bitterness. Tasty. Very good.

Oude Geuze Boon Vat 93 Sauvillers

Funky, sourish, bit acidic. Green aplles in the background. Woody, oak, tannins. Soft, very mild sour and funky aftertaste with some more wood and a hint of bitterness/zeste. Great blend, love the balance in the aftertaste.

Nath (2022) Sauvillers

Very fruity and fresh rhubarb, mild funky and sour lambic. Thought this would be more (straightforward) sour. Rather soft flavours and a delicate balance. Great one.

Lotsa woody flavours; oak, tanins. Light fruity, vanilla. Herbal and spicy notes too. Modest bitter and zesty sour aftertaste, some dryness. Elegant brew, I like it!

Racine 2022 Sauvillers

Light and fruity, intense white grapes. Fine sour aftertaste. Danm, this is great.

T42 Sauvillers

Flat, deep fruity and sour. Rich and complex aftertaste. A fine aged lambic. Very nice.

Vigneronne (2021) Sauvillers

Soft white grapes, gentle sourness. Sweetish, fullbodied aftertaste with refined flavours of bit dryish white grapes. Hint of sourness and even some bitterness. Grapeskins to finish things off. Delicious and complex, just the way I love it.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2020) Sauvillers

It's still smooth, but I get a lot of charcoal and roasted flavours. Some sweet bourbon in the aftertaste together with a wry bitterness. Totally different from the other ones I've had over the year but still great.

Very soft. Hay, grainy, hint of green apples. Aftertaste is very bitter, zesty with some vanilla. Round oakyness. Great blend, I like this very much.

50 Degrees N - 4 Degrees E (2020) (Cognac) Sauvillers

Flat. Mild funky lambic, sweetened and caramelised apples. Brandy, white grapes. Hints of vanilla, wood and alcohol. Very gentle, broad sourish aftertaste with some more broadening and tongue sticking alcohol. Very refined. Awesome beer.

Oude Geuze Boon Vat 59 Sauvillers

Fullbodied. Round flavours of red wine, calvados. White grapes/wine too. Bit sharp aftertaste with lots of wood, tannins, but never annoying. Some bitterness on the tongue. Very good one!

Nath (2017) Sauvillers

Faint rhubarb flavour, something herbal, hoppy bitterish. Lemongrass? Herbal funky, mild sour aftertaste. Some rhubarb too. Lost much of its rhubarb flavour, but very good nonetheless. Great complexity.

Oude Geuze Boon à l'Ancienne - VAT 109 Mono Blend Sauvillers

(B:2016) Fine, but lively carbonation. Deep funky, zesty bittery. Only a hint of citrus, stone fruit. Rather bitter and very deep aftertaste, coated with smooth and sweet, bit alcoholic cognac. Caramelised apple. Tanins and oak. Wonderfully aged.

Barbera Sauvillers

Deep cherries, blue grapes. Really like a dessert wine. Deep fruity flavours. Broad, mild sour aftertaste. Great beer, a bit young and sharp but already rich and complex. This lambic will certainly improve with age.

Zwanze 2022 - Poivre de Gorilles Sauvillers

Soft pepper; pink pepper? Smooth and fruity. Soft sour aftertaste, gentle peppery down the throat. Awesome.

Cuvée Oude Henri (2020) Sauvillers

Boon softness, sweet and bittery. Vinous, dry and funky undertone, quite like champagne. Full, round and dry aftertaste. Great blend!

Sang Bleu (2022) Sauvillers

Full bodied. Wry (grape) skins, deep red wineish. Funky and dusty. Sweet honey in the aftertaste together with a tart, dryish berryness. Absolutely fabulous!

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019) Sauvillers

Thick but crisp mouthfeel. Massive amounts of bitter chocolate and coffee. Bourbon and wry alcohol in the aftertaste, which tastes a bit off, not blending well with the rest of the flavours. It's still nice though.

Oude Schaarbeekse Kriek Boon (2018) Sauvillers

Lively carbonation, soft mouthfeel. Mostly oaky flavours, sweet deep cherries in the aftertaste. Hint of marzipan. Short sour, vinegarlike sting when I swallow it. Great balance, rich profile. Not really sour.

Oude Geuze A L’Ancienne VAT 108bis Mono Blend Sauvillers

Refined carbonation, almost flat. Very fruity citric flavour. Soft too. Funky, bretty undertone. Robust funky, mild but deep sour and dry aftertaste. Great one.

Mamouche (2021) Sauvillers

Very soft mouthfeel. Elderflowers, real flowery, syrupy. Aftertaste is more elderflower, even elderberry with a medium funky- and sourness. Great blend, love the balance and rather refined flavours in this one.

Mikkeller Oude Geuze (Old Calvados Casks Blend) Sauvillers

Soft and smooth. Funky, green apples. Some dryness, bit peppery on the tongue. Some gentle sweetening calvados in the aftertaste. Bit mouth watering. Rather delicate profile. Great one!

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio (2020) Sauvillers

Lively carbonation. Fresh, green cherries dominate an oily, woody, funky and light vinegarlike lambic. Terrific.

Nuit Bruxelloise (2019) Sauvillers

Thick. Deep fruityness, pulp and grapeskins. Bit like an aged wine. Tempered but deep sour. Soft and rich aftertaste. Another great one.

Wild Friendship (2022) Sauvillers

Deep sourish, dry bitter. Funky notes, bit herbal and hoppy. Nice balance. Very good.

Manzanilla Sauvillers

Fullbodied. Very sweet, almost like a desert wine. Bit of burning alcohol. Bitterish aftertaste. Damn this is great.

Nath (2021) Sauvillers

Rather soft mouthfeel, lively carbonisation. Soft, fruity lambic, subtle fruity and sour rhubarb notes. Gentle but deep sour aftertaste, I can feel it sticking to my teeth. Good one.

Velvet Rush (2021) Sauvillers

Caramel, milk sugar. Bit herbal: nutmeg, clove. Bourbon and burned notes in the aftertaste, some bitterness. Vanilla. Very tasty.

William Sauvillers

Sourish, pear. Bittery tones, pits, core. Fruity pear flavour, rather deep and rich, but subtle at the same time. Love it.

Fresh, smooth and fruity apricots. Very smooth and elegant. Medium funky and sour aftertaste, rather deep. Some vinegar, hints of bitterness. Terrific.

A bit thin. Caramel, some spices. A bit tangy, very fruity orange peel in the background. Soft bourbon and a hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. Great one.

Zwanze 2020 - Brettrave Sauvillers

Beetroot all the way. Earthy, funky, bit fruity. Broad sour aftertaste. Straightforward, but very good.

Zwanze 2021 - Parasol Sauvillers

Funky, mild, bit soapy. Lotsa bloodorange but not dominant. Minerally? (Or is this the citrus?) Mild but complex. Great one!

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) Sauvillers

Mostly sweet; lactose, butter and a hint of caramel. Coffee and bitterish aftertaste with some bourbon in the background. Deep roasty. Very good.

Poulsard Lambic Sauvillers

Refined taste, white grapes. Still young and fruity. Wry, bit stonelike, minerally aftertaste. Great, complex blend.

Lou Pepe Kriek (2018) Sauvillers

Deep, dusty cherries. Broad oaky and sour aftertaste. Vanilla, almonds. Awesome fruit lambic, intense fruity.

Brabantiæ (2019) Sauvillers

Smooth. Light profile; fruity, funky, sourish. Round aftertaste with subtle flavours of port, spices and oakyness. Ends with a dryish bitterness. Delicate beer. Perfection.

Soft and smooth mouthfeel. Very zesty. Lemon and bitterness. Herbal. Fruity, bit bitter aftertaste. Rich and clean palate. Great blend, nice complexity.

Big Lushious Sauvillers

Fruity and sticky raspberries. Rather thin. Sourish aftertaste with hints of chocolate and bitterness. Not what I expected, a bit infected? Anyway, the raspberry sweetness overpowers the rest.

Tyrnilambic Baie D'Argousier (2021) Sauvillers

Intense fruitynes; berries, buckthorn. Full bodied. Dryish and soft sour aftertaste. Elegant, reasonable soft. Awesome blend.

Vinsanto 2020 Sauvillers

Very wry and fruity, herbal, white grapes. Very rich and complex. Awesome brew with unique flavours. I like this a lot. To sip and enjoy.

KBS Espresso Sauvillers

Very roasted, lotsa coffee flavours. Mocha. Smooth bourbon in the aftertaste, some maplelike sweetness. Roasted bitterness. Delicious.

More fruity and less minerally than the 2018. You can really taste the fresh white grapes. Great one!

Full bodied, mild sour. White and blue grapes. Mild but deep sour aftertaste. I like the long aftertaste. Very good!

Starts off sweet, white winelike but ends wry, dry with flavoufs of must and (grape)seeds. Very special, but I like it!

Very sour, mouth puckering. Deep and intense apricot flavours. Very dusty and funky. Wow, this is awesome!

Drogone Lambic (2020) Sauvillers

Deep grape flavours, soft fruityness, low acidity. Bit wry, bitterish aftertaste ( chestnuts). Chestnuts also give the beer a broader profile. Very good.

Kriek 100% Lambic Bio (2017) Sauvillers

Acidic, vinegar. Smooth soft lambic, gentle cherry presence. Really rich. Dry, red currantlike sourness. Wow, this aged awesomely!

Spontantripleraspberry Sauvillers

Raspberryjam, vinegar. Heavy, broad and deep sour, countered only by the jammyness. Sharp, bit alcoholic, oaky. Bit unpleasant because of the tannins but very nice nonetheless.

Blushing Monk Sauvillers

A lot of very fruity raspberries, yeasty and bittery in the background. Sticky and very sweet. Alcohol is well hidden. Nice one.

Kriek Mariage Parfait (2018) Sauvillers

Soft sour and funky. Medium cherry presence, pits, almonds. Weird bitterness in the aftertaste, but it grows on me and blends surprisingly well with the other flavours. Refined. Awesome balance.

Mas Agave (2020) Sauvillers

Very sweet, honey- and maplelike background. Fresh touches of lime, something salty. Sweet syrupy aftertaste with a strong presence of tequila. Unusual profile, but I like it very much. Great brew!

Gueuze 100% Lambic Bio (2018) Sauvillers

Very delicate bouquet: funky, barnyard, soft sour. Grainy, bitterish and dry aftertaste. Perfect.

Beer Geek Breakfast Sauvillers

Soft mouthfeel with a sharpness on the tip of the tongue. Almost all coffee bean flavours and roastyness. Rather subtle bitterness in the aftertaste. A bit onesided/meagre, but i like it.

Rosé de Gambrinus (2020) Sauvillers

Off bottle: there's an unpleasant dominating cork taste (the bottle was filled till the cork, with no room for air). Woody with a medium raspberry presence and a nice fruity and sour aftertaste. Gets better when it's allowed to breathe. Too bad.

Chipotle Porter Sauvillers

Creamy, almost watery mouthfeel. Mocca with hints of chocolate. Aftertaste is a long spicy one with some drying bitterness. Very nice beer. I like it.

Soft mouthfeel. Resinlike and somewhat citrusy hoppy. Hop bitter, bit dirty finish with a malty profile. Nice ipa, kinda soft but reasonable deep flavours.

Broad and funky lambic with a rich and refined white grape presence. Mild sour. Soft bitter and dry undertone. Wow, this is perfect!

Hazy And Sally Sauvillers

Smooth mouthfeel. Tropical hoppy and bitter. Wheaty. Reasonable bitter and dry aftertaste. Enjoyable beer, very nice.
