Backwoods Bastard (2020)

Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy

Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts, a bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark fruit. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

Klar udda stil från Founders. Men "wee"? It's farking lead-heavy! Mycket plommon. Käftsmäll precis i Founders-stil!

Almost 3 years in my cellar, it's time to crack this beauty open. Strong, complex, yet accessible. Dark malts, prunes, oak, Bourbon, vanilla, leather, raisins. Rich & strong body.

I miss the older vintages, would like more caramel and toffee with the barrel as in older years.

Zo goed als schuimloos. Aroma van koffie. Ik proef koffie, wat caramel, toffee. Warm en lekker.

Mild milk chocolate with a bit of a scotch aftertaste. Almost creamy. No bite at all, the 11% ABV is a surprise.
