Take Founders Old Curmudgeon, a beer they named after me, then mellow it out for a year by bourbon barrel aging, and you get a more tempered form of the original. Worth the pour.

Syrupy sweetness is balanced by thinning booze. Very rich any which way you cut it. Equal parts maple syrup and bourbon barrel.

Just past the 2 year mark. It's become a Barleywine with some heat.

Very boozy! Probably woudn't buy one again. Molasses is way too sweet for beers.

Aged this 2 years (8-15-18 bottle) because I had a '16 bottle back in '18 and it was super good... Unbelievable blend of the booze the malt the maple bourbon barrel and the molasses came way to the front after 2 years. Absolutely delicious. Awesome beer

If I had to use one word to describe this it would be medicinal. Bottled in August of 2018

Sweet bourbon maple juice. Not usually my thing but this is going down smooth. 24 months in bottle have helped this a lot.

Found a 2018 from Binnys & it’s fantastic. Maple & barrel have cooled way down. 4.65

Whoa! That is one sweet beer, a bit too sweet for my taste. I definitely taste the syrup. It is a little boozy which is nice

Pretty sweet for me! I need a French fry with this. It’s definitely a breakfast beer! Lots of maple.
