Backwoods Bastard 2021

Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy

Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, Oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts, a bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark fruit. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the pallet.

Caramel, vanilla with a winey malty nose. Warm spicy palate. Oakey vanilla with a bourbon warmth finish.

This was the evening finisher last Saturday night (06/19) after the auction. Just catching up on some checkins. These are always nice, even at the end of a warm day.

Oak, vanilla on the nose. Sweet oak, boozy, and there is a fruit on the finish there. Maybe a raspberry or blackberry. Great oak throughout. Solid drink.

Decided to hang with a couple bastards tonight. The barrel serves the base beer well. Nice caramel notes meld well with the barrel.
