What to drink as I'm frying wings. KBS of course. Bouquet still is tantalizing. Notes of chocolate, roasted malt, barrel seems to have faded a tad bit. Not as boozy, but apparent. Caribbean Jerk wings +KBS 😊

beer after ages. thick dark coffee chocolate but very smooth

6 yr. Vertical. Mellow and dry with more baking spice, anise, and subtle tobacco.

Drinking well. Not as much chocolate as last time I had this 4 years ago. It's dark like the void my soul will eventually return to. Please continue to enjoy KBS.

Aged for 5 years, old and excellent, like my mom who passed away last week. This is one of many tributes to her that I'll be cracking open.

Stored in the fridge. Time mellowed the barrel influence, Rich and smooth, not boozy

Had to move the cellar fridge out of the basement and guess this wonderfully mellow 5 year old bottle must have fallen out… how klutzy of me, oopsies.

Feel pretty good about getting access to this no longer available beer. Markedly different than the 2021, which was good, this was great.

The coffee & chocolate are nearly gone but the bourbon is smooth. 2018 was my favorite in this 6 years vertical I did so it's my conclusion KBS is at its best aged 4 years.

17-3, 5yr 2mo o. Coffee is mellowing, yet at a pleasant level rn. Plenty of complex spices remain. Notes of cocoa, cream, and warm molasses. Aging beautifully.

Booziness has disappeared completely after 5 years. Not as thick as I remembered. The coffee came through without too much acidity. Aged well.

Oddly very thin but smooth and drinkable, touch of oxidation. No heat, no chocolate.
