After 4.5 yrs aging you barely taste any bourbon, very smooth but it’s lost some luster. Also preemptive celebratory drink what should be confirmed tomorrow 🇺🇸

Helped my neighbor move a bed, got a breakfast beer as a reward. Not even complaining. This has held up nicely (and hits very well at 10:45am).

Attempted to make this recipe. Wasted half a bottle of a good beer. The KBS alone was great but not the mixed drink 😫

Aging really brings out the chocolate. Touch of bourbon is there. Very nice beer.

Black Sensation 2020 event. Mostly coffee Bin both nose and mouth. Bitter, dry and coffee. Quite thin and boring

The bourbon has maybe faded a bit and it has a slight dark fruit note. Still roasty coffee and thick chocolate predominantly. Granted, the only other KBS I’ve had for comparison was 2019’s.

Cellar pull #1 (that time of the year)-only makes sense as KBS is year round now-gotta make room. 2017 vintage 3 years old...AMAZINGLY aged, slightly boozy, but much subdued from fresh. When the bourbon backs down, the coffee and cocoa shine.

No coffee anymore. Malts have picked up a stone fruit note. Crazy smooth.

Tons of bourbon on the first couple sips- but then it mellows. The base beer is faded and sweet.

Back in my KBS stash to celebrate yet another Tide win over good ol’ rocky top. Found a 2017 I didn’t know I had and it is great. Thought about opening the bottle before kickoff, but that would have just been rude.

De-effing-licious. Day off today!!! Just got done prepping a Julia child version of Beef Bourguignon and this is how I’m rewarding myself. Chocolate and coffee, perfect for a cold rainy day. Such an excellent beer, even better with age!!!
