Cream coffee, nicely rounded with unobtrusive bourbon. Surprisingly smooth and yummy. 4.3+

i was first going to judge this lower because it wasn’t as “velvety” as i thought it would be, but i realized it’s not a “stout”, which that velvety mouthfeel rly comes out in. this is an interesting ale, with “stout-y” characteristics.

Brown ale tres corpulente, pas d’overdose de sucre la gourmandise est délicate mais bien présente. Une réelle douceur des arômes et un abv bien caché, pas de côté boozy. Founders n’en finira pas de m’épater

Nose is coffee and brown sugar. Taste is heavily spiced. I get cinnamon, vanilla and brown sugar. At the end the chocolate comes through. Throughout I also get a taste of coffee. Can also taste vanilla sweetness from the barrel. It’s nice and light.

Koffie met Haagse hopjes en vanille brownie. Heel lekker. Duidelijk het verschil te proeven tussen imperial stout en imperial brown.

De geur was direct vreselijk. Totaal men ding niet. Na de eerste slok dacht ik word voor de gootsteen. Maar hij is redelijk zoet en dat red hem daarvan.

On sniff and first sip, the coffee hits like mild jalapeno, kinda pushes any chocolate or barreling outta the profile. The barrel does show up late, and gets more prominent as we go. Decent, but not quite to expex, and following several *tough* acts.
