On sniff and first sip, the coffee hits like mild jalapeno, kinda pushes any chocolate or barreling outta the profile. The barrel does show up late, and gets more prominent as we go. Decent, but not quite to expex, and following several *tough* acts.

Nose is coffee and brown sugar. Taste is heavily spiced. I get cinnamon, vanilla and brown sugar. At the end the chocolate comes through. Throughout I also get a taste of coffee. Can also taste vanilla sweetness from the barrel. It’s nice and light.

Brown ale tres corpulente, pas d’overdose de sucre la gourmandise est délicate mais bien présente. Une réelle douceur des arômes et un abv bien caché, pas de côté boozy. Founders n’en finira pas de m’épater

i was first going to judge this lower because it wasn’t as “velvety” as i thought it would be, but i realized it’s not a “stout”, which that velvety mouthfeel rly comes out in. this is an interesting ale, with “stout-y” characteristics.
