KBS Hazelnut (2022)

Stout - Imperial / Double

The perfectly balanced and decadent drinking experience of KBS meets the classic taste of hazelnut. Taking this bourbon barrel-aged stout to a new level, KBS Hazelnut allows the existing premium coffee and chocolate notes to soar to new heights when accented by the nutty sweetness of hazelnut.

Biiiig hazelnut aroma on the nose. Almost to the point of smelling like nutella. The flavour has tons of hazelnuts, but also burned malt, oats, coffee, chocolate and barreled ages characters. Really amazing stuff.

Hazelnut flavor is there but needs more coffee. I don’t know what this is like fresh but with age the flavors are subtle

Founders was always class, and continues to be. The almost-two year matured this beautifully.

Lots and lots of coffee everywhere. Tempered a taste by the burbon and chocolate and presumably the hazelnut. Not altogether unpleasant even though I am not much of a coffee fan.

Advent calendar #9. Hazelnut is still prominent, but I think it's mellowing.

#5 - another one from ‘the cellar’ - bottled 1/26/22 - seems a little ‘richer’ & smooth - smells like Nutella crepes - taste is nutty, chocolate and bitter coffee. Happy Repeal Day. 90th Anniversary!
