My 2 of 2 found last Thanksgiving week. This already beautiful BBA Scotch Ale now w/ maple, cinnamon & vanilla takes this to another level. I even get the eggs on bread!

Maple and bourbon right away with eggy toast, cinnamon & vanilla. Must be something wrong because I seem to like this way more then most. Thanks, FlandersNed

Pure syrup. Still great after a year (UNYHA Aug 2023)

Been aging over a year so I figured it was a good night to crack open before another long day at work tomorrow. Delightful beer. Honestly top tier.

Yes didn't realize it but this one has aged over a year. Born Sept 2022, Died Dec 2023 Maple still coming through strong, vanilla, cinnamon there, seems less boozy to me. Sweet, strong and delicious

Much more subtle maple. I think this is almost perfectly aged. Maybe just a touch overaged with a bare hint of cardboard, but it got that sweetness down perfectly. Cinnamon and vanilla are just right

Barrel aged scotch ale with a maple syrup smack in the face

Maple sweet nose. Smooth. Sweet. Cinnamon, maple forward. Roasty malt. Boozy. Maple, bourbon sweet finish. Good BA variant. May prefer the regular. Test for another day

Definitely the winner of the trio. I recommend if you enjoy french toast and sweet brews.

If this were not a scotch ale I would have passed. But I was intrigued and happy I tried it. Maple syrup starts out and is quickly followed by cinnamon. As it warms up the bourbon flavoring enters and just makes it a damn fine ale.

Better than the brewery-only release a few years ago. Maple, cinnamon, and barrel deliciousness. Smells incredible.

As advertised, liquid French toast with a side of bourbon

Packing/moving beer. Surprised this isn’t rated higher but maybe it’s polarizing. Backwoods bastard is one of my favorite available year round beers so I’m biased but this nails the French toast flavor. Wish I could find more. Also rounded out the move.

Age it. It's a little sweet to drink fresh but still very good

Spot on French toast and not in an overly sweet way. I dig this!

Vanilla, caramel, butterscotch, maple, booze is smooth, this is dangerously good. I appreciate the bottle Cody M. !

Well, that happened. It would make for an interesting breakfast and an interesting day at work..

A bit vanilla-heavy, but the aroma is French toast. Taste has much of the same. A bit more vanilla than I remember the mothership release having, but it tastes like bourbon dipped French toast. The body is medium-full with medium-low carbonation. 4.5/5
