Back in 2019, Founders "didn't plan to make CBS" anymore. Tough to believe since it's their highest rated beer. I'm glad they changed their plans. 2023's is a great as I remember. Sweet, maple syrup, coffee, boozy. Greatness continues!

Chocolate and coffee can't quite catch the maple yet as I am drinking it cold. But just how I remember it!! So glad it's back!!

This takes me back to the good old days of finding a release event and waiting in line for hours just to get a pour. Decadently rich layers of chocolate, coffee, maple and vanilla all perfectly melded together none overpowering the other.

Malt forward aromas with chocolate and maple aromas. Heavy bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. Strong malty flavors throughout with roasty coffee flavors and sweet chocolate flavor notes. Boozy with dry barrel flavors. Sweet maple flavors throughout. Depth.

More maple than I remember from older vintages, which definitely isn't a bad thing. Incredible balance of flavors.

I’m not sure why I had any other beers this evening… this is the chosen one. Deep, dark, roasty, black coffee with a sweet french vanilla cold foam on top. SO good.

5th one. Remains a fantastic bourbon BA imperial stout brewed with chocolate, coffee & maple syrup. Creamy, well-balanced with notes of vanilla, bourbon, oak, coffee, maple & chocolate!

Roasty coffee, chocolate, sweetness with barrel aged flavor all present. Interesting to read that it's aged in bourbon barrels WITH maple syrup, and not in maple syrup barrels. Still delicious. Thicker mouthfeel.
