Slight maple coffee nose, taste is of coffee maple liquor with chocolate and vanilla in the background. Great winter beer whilst sitting by the fire. Because of the sweetness, I would pair this with dark chocolates.

I agree with OmahaBeerAlpaca it’s still a very good 🍁 🥃 ☕️ stout but it doesn’t hit like the OG CBS.

NEW RECIPE ALERT. This is aged in bourbon barrels with maple syrup added. NOT aged in bourbon barrels that then aged maple syrup and then aged the beer. The result is a more upfront sweet and sticky taste that lacks the subtlety of the old maple taste.

Yeah it's still really good. That it took em so many years of trash KBS flavors to realize it is the damn shame of it all

Decent but not near as good as when I had in 2015. That's what happens when big business gets involved. Same as what happened to Bell's. Sad.

Not overly mapled. Quite sweet, more so the further into the glass one gets.

First time having a CBS this fresh! Bottled 10/17/23 The coffee is more forward than the other times I’ve had CBS. Nice maple syrup notes to smooth out the bitterness. Bourbon is subtle but def adds some warmth. Great beer.

It's insane how drinkable this is. So sweet. So delicious.

A triumphant return for one of my all time favs. Rich and deep with dark chocolate and coffee up front with maple and vanilla kicking in towards the finish.

O: med dark brown, med-high foam. S: barrel and then some maple def comes through. Med-thick bodied, light carbo. T: vanilla, black coffee, and maple on a nice bourbon stout base. A bit rougher on aftertaste than I remember. Glad it’s back!

Outstanding flavor. The coffee doesn’t overwhelm the taste.

Sweeter and boozier than previous versions. Perhaps with less of a coffee/chocolate taste.

Start with Founder’s signature barrel aging process, using Beer City’s gypsum mines under the city streets; whether you are a beer snob or not, the beer brings that buzzilicous that says, life is too short to make it complicated. Let's hear that roar! 🦁

So good. Best example of barrel aged imperial stout. High carbonation. Not too boozy. Sweet and chocolaty. Not too much coffee. Just right.

The previous brew was a drain pour. Sorry Sweetwater. On the other hand....
