Found this while moving last month. Still powerful but think it had seen better days.

Cellared for years. Celebration of life occasion. Tasty like a Belgian.

This has been wonderfully aged. Caramel and figs. Boozy AF, but I expected that.

Took the "ages well" literally. Aged for 5 years almost to the bottled date (1 week over). Still smells great. Almost like a scotch ale. Medium mouthfeel, muted/old bitterness, a bit of smoke (very light), sweetness in the finish.

I was expecting something crazy with this one for it to be 16.5%..surprised to find to super smooth and not alcoholic tasting at all!

Yes, you can age this. It's pretty peak fresh though.

Malty, aged dark fruit, hoppy, went down easier than 16.5%

So much different and infinitely better aged.

Thanks for the share! Aging definitely shows more maltiness in these. I remember this from when I aged a 2013 and it still hold true.

It’s weird because it’s not spicy, but it burns my tongue? It’s different. I like it.

Knocking down a bit because WOW this is strong and malty as fuck.

Sharing a beer from my cellar with Larry - started with 60 minute, then 90 minute and then 120 minutes and there is no disappointment, the 120 minute still rules with complex flavors

Tasty! Floral, lightly citrusy aged hops lead, w/ BIG caramel, lesser grapefruit & fig, & splash of Sherry mid-taste, & balanced orange marmalade, roasted brown sugar, & resin late. 16.5% ABV absurdly well-concealed. Coating, chewy mouthfeel.

Just a huge beer. Sort of reminds me of an American Barleywine like Bigfoot at this point. Resinous and piney and sticky and lingering for ages. Can't wait to see what more years in the cellar will do to it. Very complex. Still as hoppy as a normal IPA.

Left this bottle for another year. Still great but don't think it developed much. Definitely more of a barleywine.
