World Wide Stout - Bourbon Barrel Aged

Stout - Imperial / Double

Just when we thought World Wide Stout couldn’t get any better… Our brewers decided to take a Dogfish Head legend and age it on charred oak bourbon barrels acquired directly from Heaven Hill Distillery – still wet with spirits when they arrived at the brewery! Rare and often rumored about in the darkest corners of the beer community, this variety of World Wide Stout is dark, rich, roasty and complex, balancing notes of coffee and licorice with the carmely, smooth finish of bourbon. Clocking in at 15-18% ABV, Bourbon Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout is an excellent candidate for cellaring, so grab a few bottle to enjoy now and lay the others down for a few years. You’ll be happy you did … trust us.

Subtle bourbon stout that hides the 18% ABV far too well. Calling this a dangerous beer is damning it with faint praise.

Loved the original WWS and to age it in bourbon barrels, this is a phenomenal beer. Aged this for 2 1/2 yrs, my 6,000 beer. I so much appreciate Carlos H. for grabbing this for me, u da man.

Wowsers! This was top notch. The bourbon presence was equally balanced on the nose and taste. Fairly complex with notes of char, cocoa, coffee, and subtle licorice. Warming yet ultra smooth. This was a shocking 18%! You weren't kidding bro! Mark W.

A little boozy but not as much as the ABV would imply.

Big ashy malts, some soy/licorice mid-palate, and loads of dark chocolate and bourbon. Much abv heat at the end, kinda tough hiding 18.3, good stuff!

Just purchased this week at the EmPOURium, bottled 11/1/19. Boozy in all the right ways. Very, very good.

Storm-induced blackout beer, drunk at (our actual) “cellar temp.” Huge bourbon raisin nose. Alcoholic, brown sugar, vanilla, trace cola, bit of throat burn reminds you there are hops involved.

Bourbon and oak are prominant, but not overpowering. Also not as boozy as I had expected.

2019. Bourbon, raisin, dark chocolate aroma. Rich chocolate, fig, some raisin, and a lot of bourbon without any harshness. Well balanced. Really fantastic at this point, though I don't know what it was like new in 2019. I'd never guess it's 18%.

Finally picked up a bottle! Drinks easy for 18%, but I’m not fond of the tangy finish.
